چکیده

I N THE NORMAL hepatic acinus, the basement membrane is not seen in the hepatic perisinusoidal space, called Disse's space. I However, it has been reported that the hepatic sinusoidal w8J.I.bas the basement membrane formation and resembles the capillary in chronic liver disease such as cirrhosis of the liver.2•J This alteration has been suggested to advance damage of the parenchymal cells due to the disturbed exchange of metabolites between blood and parenchymal cell.3 •4 The aim of this study was to estimate the role of the hepatic sinusoidal capillarization in failed liver grafts from various causes after transplantation.

Human recombinant endostatin Endostar attenuates hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cell capillarization in CCl4‑induced fibrosis in mice.

The aim of the present study was to detect the effect of the recombinant human endostatin Endostar on hepatic sinusoidal capillarization in CCl4‑induced murine models of liver fibrosis. The liver fibrosis model was induced in BALB/c mice using intraperitoneal injection of CCl4 for 6 weeks. Animals were divided into the following six treatment groups: Group 1, normal animals; group 2, CCl4‑induc...

Vatalanib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, decreases hepatic fibrosis and sinusoidal capillarization in CCl4-induced fibrotic mice

Among the various consequence arising from lung injury, hepatic fibrosis is the most severe. Decreasing the effects of hepatic fibrosis remains one of the primary therapeutic challenges in hepatology. Dysfunction of hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells is considered to be one of the initial events that occur in liver injury. Vascular endothelial growth factor signaling is involved in the progre...

A Transgenic Model for Conditional Induction and Rescue of Portal Hypertension Reveals a Role of VEGF-Mediated Regulation of Sinusoidal Fenestrations

Portal hypertension (PH) is a common complication and a leading cause of death in patients with chronic liver diseases. PH is underlined by structural and functional derangement of liver sinusoid vessels and its fenestrated endothelium. Because in most clinical settings PH is accompanied by parenchymal injury, it has been difficult to determine the precise role of microvascular perturbations in...

Liver X receptor α is essential for the capillarization of liver sinusoidal endothelial cells in liver injury.

Liver X receptors (LXRs) play essential roles in lipogenesis, anti-inflammatory action and hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation in the liver. However, the effects of LXRs on the capillarization of liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) in liver fibrosis remain undetermined. Here, we demonstrated that LXRα plays an important role in LSECs capillarization in a manner that involved Hedgeho...

Plumbagin Alleviates Capillarization of Hepatic Sinusoids In Vitro by Downregulating ET-1, VEGF, LN, and Type IV Collagen

Critical roles for liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) in liver fibrosis have been demonstrated, while little is known regarding the underlying molecular mechanisms of drugs delivered to the LSECs. Our previous study revealed that plumbagin plays an antifibrotic role in liver fibrosis. In this study, we investigated whether plumbagin alleviates capillarization of hepatic sinusoids by dow...
